Ok, we love heat here, and we've used a couple of the habaneros coming off of the plants (why in the world did I plant three plants????!!!!!). I even have a string of them drying in my room. Anyway, what are your favorite recipes that include habaneros or other hot peppers (I have about 15 hot banana plants along with 50 or so jalapeno plants).

Thanks!

We would probably like that, but I'm about out of jars and don't get paid until the end of September! I've made up a very good lime habanero glaze that is heavenly on lamb and london broil!

I've already decided that a fourth of my check (if there is that much left over after bills and critter food) is going for more jars. We have plenty of quarts to can rabbit, lamb, and spaghetti sauce in, but we only have 2 pints and 6-7 empty half pints left! The good thing is that we do have jars upon jars of jams, jellies, and butters that I've made this year.

I think that the next batch of the hot banana peppers I'm going to grind up some beef very finely and mix it with cheese and stuff the peppers with it. The peppers are coming in faster than I can use them though!

Keep the ideas coming!

The lime habanero glaze sounds good . I have a couple of lambs going to "freezer camp " soon. Last time I was at my local Walmart they had sold out of canning jars. My garden is late this year,I am hoping another shipment comes in.

Take your peppers and slice them halfway through. Take stem and seeds out(seeds put in more heat)Put in some sweet sausgage and grill or bake for 1/2 hour. It is wonderful. The oether thing you can do for hab peppers is make a relish out of them. Add a chunk to kosher dill pickles, you can do alot with them. I put in 50 plants a year. Onther thing is bbq sauce, The list goes on.

I've started buying jars from our local Big Lots. They're about 50 cents cheaper per dozen, and when you buy as many as I do, they're worth it! I just wish that the Dollar Tree would have their 6 jars for $1 again like they had last year! I wasn't working last year, otherwise our spare bedroom would have been stuffed with canning jars, lol.

The sausage stuffed peppers sounds great!

September is only a few days away, we will probably be getting peppers and tomatoes until mid October! I love living in zone 7b!

i've seen lots of jars being sold at thrift stores also
even yard sales

Yep, thrift stores are a great place to look. Our Walmart still has jars and our Family Dollar store carries canning jars now. I hit the motherload of jars the other day. When my granny died no one had the key to her kitchen shed....where she had a stove and big set up to do lots of canning and cooking outside....anywho the other day I busted off the lock to see what was inside and if there was anything left and OMGosh!! There were HUNDREDs of jars, big little and large ones! I was in jar heaven!! I lugged them all home
