I got some hackle stock eggs from Theiriult Flies and I figured I would show them as they grow up in case somebody was thinking about getting any or just wants to see some chicks

They are 6 weeks old. 4 cockerels and 5 pullets. They are as tame as can be. I plan on crossing them into my longtails just for some added length and solid barring. Let me know what you think.

They are Theriault line, the smallest barreds he had. I do have some more pictures. I'm keeping my mottled and lavenders pictures until they are picture worthy ( maybe in the fall) but I can show you what I started with. Also the cuckoos are constant project. I just hatched 8 of them yesterday and they all have vaults! I'm excited....haha.

Heres what I started with for mottles. I have f3 in the incubator now so I should have some mottled silkied birds this year......hopefully.

Heres my lemon/red cuckoo longtail cock. He's with buff wyandotte hens now.

Heres one of my original lavender hens. I'm in f3 so hopefully I have some nice lavenders this year. Her crest is cut off but she doesn't have much of one anyway....oh well she is still a great broody.

Heres my 5 year old cuckoo cock. We have a love/hate relationship....lol. But I keep him around just in case something happens to his kids and grandkids.

This is his daughter from last year, one of my best cuckoo hens yet.

Just wondering why you have the one rooster with wyandotte hens, is there a plan with that, its always interesting to hear why some people breed one bird to another, it gives me a new veiwpoint. I am guessing you are doing it for more of a cushion or bigger boned birds?

Yeah I'm hoping for bigger boned birds vs the oeg ish body type I have now and I want to add some production qualities. Also I'm working away from single combs towards pea or possible strawberry and I figured rose comb was the closest buff I could easily find w/o a single comb.

And when it came down to it I could only find buff oeg, buff silkie, buff cochin, buff orpington and buff wyandotte so I went with them. They are awesome birds, great temperaments and nice solid color.
