Like you said, it depends on the chicks. My two groups of bantams have been a little slower on the uptake, and we had a cold spring. So I agree, it could be earlier. 3 weeks is definitely the turning point though! šŸ˜‚

We put ours in their run permanently around 8 weeks (their coop is attached to their run and I had to throw them in one time and out one time, but after that they were happily using it themselves).

If I might make a suggestion; I have bought both my runs, a chicken feeder, other chicken related items, as well as other garden, kitchen, etc. items from Vevor because I like the quality, price, FAST shipping, and customer service I receive from them... so if you plan on buying from them for future items don't buy through Amazon. Buy directly from their website, first and foremost, its cheaper than going through Amazon. Second, be sure to first register as a member on their site. That way, after each purchase you make, you get a cash discount and those can be applied to your next purchase.
