Had to cull my first chick :(

I had to cull my first chick today

and I feel horrible The chick pipped, but after a day and 1/2 had not zipped. I carefully zipped it this morning and placed it back in the bator. When I got home from work it had partially broken free, but it was evicerated. I did what I had to do but I feel horrible! I feel like I did something wrong during the hatch. No idea, I know it happens, I just knew I couldn't let it suffer.
