Haha! I made my mom and hubby try a boiled quail egg!

ANND THEY LIKED THEM! The reason I say it like that is because the big babies had a complex about eating it. They BOTH thought it was "gross" when I told them I was boiling some up... so I got mad, neatly pealed two, and MADE hubby eat one... and he said "its good just a little sweeter than a normal egg". Then after about 10 mins of demanding my mom eat one.. (she wouldnt lol) she finnally gave in.. she held it in her thumb and pointer finger and said "ew it feels like an EYEEEE" the whole time my dad (whos a truck driver) is on the phone gagging on speaker phone... lol....and im finnally 'like "EAT it already you're psycing yourself out!" so she finnally did hands wailing like a little kid eating something it hates... then she starts laughing and she says to my dad "they're good..."

Yeah and all this time I was LYING *shakes head*

this was my first time eating boiled quail eggs.. yum yum!!! next time i decide not to sit any for incubating i'll make mini deviled quail eggs

The one i boiled was a double yolker it was the best tasting to

This was your FIRST one?! Good, huh?

I made some deviled quail eggs for my mom and her friends yesterday (they had a quilting thing) and they loved 'em. She even called and asked for a couple more fresh eggs....her friend and friend's husband spent the night there and she cooked breakfast this morning. She asked friend's husband how many fried eggs he'd like. 3 he said. She sat a plate down in front of him with 3 fried quail eggs, a tea biscuit and a tablespoon of grits.

They said the look on his face was priceless! He wouldn't eat the eggs, so my mom, dad, and mom's friend ate them. She took pics and is emailing them to me. I'll post 'em when she does!

It's funny you posted this, I just had a conversation with my hubby about eating Quail eggs once ours start producing. I told him they would be great on a salad, or I can make teeny Tiny deviled eggs for you, and he said "No way, I will only eat store bought eggs, even if they are chicken eggs, they have to be store bought." I just looked at him and asked "Where do you think the store bought eggs come from? And he just said "It's gross to eat your own birds Eggs!"

He is sooo strange Sometimes! I will get him to eat one, even if I have to hide it, then say Ah HA! When he eats it!

My Hubby just has an issue with eating fertitized eggs, and since he knows I plan to breed them, he knows there is a chance they will be fertile.

I barely eat them because im a hatch aholic LOL! I only eat them when they're cracked and what not
