I was down in the alpaca paddock taking photos of the chooks and it looked like it was going to storm, but just a small storm. anyway I thought the chickens would be alright 'cause it looked like it might even pass us so I went up to the house to have some lunch, in the middle of lunch it started raining really big drops which then surprise surprise turned into hail. so while everyone was running around madly trying to save their cars I was running around trying to find a helmet with no luck so I ended up getting a big bucket/tub thing and running down to the alpaca paddock then grabbing the chooks and throwing them over the fence ( I know

I fell really bad about it but none got hurt ) then trying to catch the guinea fowl, then giving up on the guinea fowl and jumping over the fence ( which is nearly as tall as me ) and chucking the chickens inside, then going back for the guinea fowl ( they. are. so. stupid.

) I was trying to chase then through the fence so they could then go into the coop but nnoooooo they had to run to the other side of the paddock

when they did finally go through the fence they were acting like they didn't know where the coop was then they got back into the alpaca paddock again

I mean seriously most animals know when your going to help them no matter how wild they are but guinea fowl, arrggggg, they would rather be soaking wet and die by getting hit by hail ( I would rather that happen too sometimes, like now

) so then it stops hailing and raining and the guinea fowl calmly walk through the fence and into the coop ARRRRRRGGGGGGGG. I. HATE. THOSE. THINGS.

so now I am soaking wet, cold, mad, mad, mad and have jumped over that fence about twenty times, with a bucket on my head.

Well at least you and the birds are all ok...

Reminds me of a storm here about two months ago.. I was packing the car to go away for the weekend..Luckily I already had some ducks in the car already.. I was going out the back to get another- and the hail hit..No rain first just huge hail..I yelled for my daughter and together we somehow managed to get most of them into the shed - A few others had to take shelter under the trampoline. It was so scarey though... It didnt last too long and one duck had a limp wing for a few days from being hit with the hail .....My daughter and I were covered in bruises and soaking wet - But at least we managed to get the ducks inside.

wow, that sounds bad. the hail we got wasn't that big though just about the size of a marble. plus I had a great little ( huge ) hat on

it was kinda cool though being out in a hail storm with it all bouncing off my bucket hat but not getting hit. the annoying thing with it though is that after I'd made sure everything/everyone was safe and it had stoped hailing I walked around trying to find a piece of the ice and I couln't find any.

Once a few years back we had gone out for a few hours and driving back home we were in our street, blue sky everything looked normal and then there was like a invisible line where the storm had gone through. it was really wierd, normal and clean on one side and branches and leaves everywhere on the other. when we got home there were golf ball sized hail everywhere and our neighbour came out and told us that the storm came through about an hour ago and the hail was about the size of a big orange

. The bad part about that though was one of our cars was out in the storm so it had dints all over it and the windscreen was all smashed. not good.

I like hail! Im waiting on the next hail storm out here so I can get the insurance guy out here to get me a new roof
