Hello everyone! My name is Hailey and I am a wife and mother. I have 3 small children under the age of 5 and my husband and I decided to add some new babies to our bunch....chickens!! We ordered some Rhode Island Reds and got a mystery bird which turned out to be a Buff Orpington Rooster. So all in all we have 17 Rhode Island Reds and 1 Orpington rooster. A few weeks ago we were in a store and they we selling chicks and we couldn't resist them! So, we ended up buying 6 black chicks and 4 pullets. The black chicks turned out to be Barred Rocks and we are not really sure what the other chicks are yet. My family is very excited about all of our chickens and we would love to keep expanding our "family." Since we were new to all this chicken business we searched the internet in hopes of learning more about what we were looking for in order to take care of our birds the right way. Almost every time I typed in something in the search bar the BYC website came up and ALWAYS had the answers that we were looking for.
Some of my hobbies include spending time with my family, creative writing, doing arts/crafts, and of course chickens!!
I married my high school sweetheart and we have 3 kids. We don't have any other pets but are looking forward to possibly adding some in the future. My daughters and I both would love some rabbits and maybe a pig. I just love animals! I am a stay at home mommy and enjoy all the time that I get to watch my children grow up. They are my life. I am excited about all things BYC!
