half a picture

Often I can only see the left half of a picture which accompanies a post. Is there any way of getting the rest of the picture?
It must be because the picture is too big and people do not know how to make it smaller when posting.
I would like to see the pictures and it is disappointing to only be able to see half of it, which is not what the posters want anyway.

Happens to me a lot, but if I refresh the page, the pictures go to normal size.
