My female runner, Pickle thinks she's broody. I say she thinks she's broody because she often forgets about her eggs.
I come out everyday and she is sitting in her cardboard box of eggs acting all motherly but as soon as she sees us she comes running for snuggles. She leaves her eggs for hours at a time some times!
The poor girl really believes that somethings going to come out of these eggs. (she will peck at your hands and go into a panic when you try to take them.)
She's even stopped laying! (I am running low on eggs. NOT convienent timing.)
But when the 5 year old went out to collect the eggs and dropped one, she chased away her sister. I was proud of her little motherly feelings... UNTIL She devoured it! It was like watching some kind of sick twisted horror movie.
I will never understand what goes on in their little heads...
