How? Brahma Bantam eggs of course!

She started laying about two weeks ago. We get about one egg a day, though sometimes we get two. One in the morning and one in the evening. They are cute and small and very light pink

Here are half a dozen of her eggs in my boyfriend's hand

And here is one of her eggs compared to a store bought egg

And there is the girl that's laying them. She's about half the size of my other girls. (two EE & RIR) She refuses to lay her eggs in the very nice egg boxes I got for them.. instead she lays them on the poo board by the roosts, in one corner.

Thanks everyone. Yeah she's a cute girl, I love her feather patterns and colors.
I've been trying to get her to lay in the nest boxes, using the golf-ball idea from the start, but she doesn't seem to what to have anything to do with them.

Her coloration looks JUST like one of my chickens!! Is she a particular breed? EE? My chickens were found under an abandoned house & I've been wondering what breed(s) they were. Figured they're mutts.

Bantum just refers to the size, right?? (Sorry, I'm new to this.)

She's a Brahma. Bantam does refer to their size. I guess you could say a miniature version of the full sized one. I bet from the ground to head she's about 8-9inches tall.

Funny thing, this morning I walked in the kitchen and I thought I heard the "Egg song" so I ran out there but found my bantam in the chicken run. Confused I peeked in the coop window and one of my RIR's was making all the noise.. and my other RIR was sitting on the golfball....I hope this means they will be laying soon.
