I need advice on my guinea hatch. There are 4 left, one hasn't piped, one is zipping right along (these are very late) and 2 have been half hatched for 3 days. Both are still alive, both have most of the shells dropped off but both are still in ripped white membrane but their feathers seem to be stuck on the helmet like inner membrane which has dried. I picked one up trying to peel some to see if it is stuck to them, which it is. Humidity is very high in incubator. What the heck to do? I did put some bag balm on the exposed membrane hoping to soften it for them to break free of their own. Guess we shall see. Hate to see them lose the battle now. Wonder if they are malpositioned and can't move correctly to get loose?
Thanks!

and there doesn't seem to be any blood vessels left in the membrane, only stuck feather....

Take a wet Q-tip and try and get in under that membrane and dampen the spot where it's glued stuck. It could take a few minutes for it to soften enough, so keep at it and keep dampening it. Good luck!

Keets are free. Had to peel them once the bag balm softened them up. One is really strong, one is kind of weak. The other one that was zipping like crazy...died in its shell ;0( Apparently they get positioned wrong and can't work out? It didn't seem dried out or particularly hard and wonder why 2 can hang on for days with their beaks stuck out and others just expire once they reach this point....hhhmmm
