Half way through day 22

It may take a little bit. I'm on day 23 today and still have chicks hatching. The first egg pipped early Sunday on day 21 and didn't hatch till late at night on day 22. Over 24 hours!! This is my first time as well. I have learned that they do vary a lot. Just be patient.

OK so give it some time, hatching takes a very long time. If he still isn't out bytomorrow night or the next day, I would try cracking open the shell. I had to do that with a few of my chicks, by the time that I even cracked it open, the shell membrane was already dried onto the skin and they had crooked toes. I wouldn't worry too much about that. But if you see some movement in a few of the eggs, then I would think that just giving them some time and letting them try to crack open up on their own would be good. But if not by tomorrow night or the next day I would maybe try cracking one open.

Also, don't expect them all to hatch. I had 17 in the incubator and only 10 ended up hatching. Three of them had to be cracked out, but they ended up dying and the rest just didn't even have a pip. But the 10 that I have are happy and healthy! Sorry lol I don't mean to be negative and discouraging...sorry

. Good luck and if you have any questions please ask. I have experienced exactly what you're going through

Honestly it's good that you have hatched duck eggs before this. So then you already kind of have some experience on how it goes. I just hatched my first batch of chicks and I was pretty much clueless lol

Ok so what's the best method of cracking the egg without hurting the possible chick? Gonna wait to do that for as long as possible, just wanted an idea of what I need to do.

Here's the latest, not giving up entirely but I think we've lost most of the eggs but one moved and peeped at me with a gentle tap. should I help it out at this point?
