If there are no red blood veins that means they’ve dried up and she’s ready to hatch. If there are still obvious red veins leave her be for 4-5 hours or so.

She’s bleeding gosh I wish I could show u a better picture …..

Did you try helping her hatch? That might be why she’s bleeding

Leave her in the incubator for the next 3 hours. If nothing changed but you can’t see blood you may try to squish the top to assist her. If she’s still bleeding let her be! (at least for until there is no more blood)

Yes I did ; / I know she may not live …… it’s been too long since pip and then a half zip n stop …. I pulled a tiny piece off very carefully. Saw blood and put it back…. 4 others have passed her in hatching …her head is above her right wing going the wrong way… I’m afraid if I don’t do anything she could pass away trying and half out …. It looks like the wing is stuck across her front. Her head is clearly above her right wing and trying to go almost backwards but not even able to touch shell …. ; /

Is the chick still actively bleeding? Or has it stopped? Did you see veins when you tried to help it? If you can still see it making those chewing movements, that means it isn’t ready, and it is still absorbing, so it needs more time. I would give it a few hours, checking on it at least once every hour, and then see if its chewing has slowed.

(at least for until there is no more blood) seems moist enough ….other than she’s completely the wrong direction pthe wing wrapped around her front but to me it seems very moist around her

Right when I saw chewing movements I read that once it means it’s still absorbing I will give her those 3 hrs …. She is totally backwards n I think it will be hard for her to come out as is but I don’t think touching her will help considering that bloody spot with absorbing. There are also three others in the incubator that pip this morning And might pass her now….. the are starting Zip now….pip 24hrs ago started the zip this afternoon n stopped….thank you for helping me I appreciate it it helps calm me down. I watched one just stop breathing once and I wished I had helped 2 mins sooner …. It’s yolk and veins were fully absorbed Dono what happened I guess just wasn’t meant to be.

She hatched !!! No broken veins yolk absorbed I did help after the others moved her around a bit picked her up n she hatched in my hands with oil ; )

mouth movements mean nothing and its rare a chick makes itself bleed zipping .. once they pip, its very common for it to take up to 24 hours for them to finish absorbing and start zipping .. so id wait .. the big gaping hole 'not from zipping' may indeed cause problems and dry it out requiring assistance later .. oil is probably a bad idea, so is having it out of the bator getting cold .. when it gets real vocal here in 12 or so more hours, reassess ... dont assist them too early next time, its easier ..

It was well passed the 24 hrs after its external pip. 33 or so hrs…. It was 3rd to pip out of 10 and all chicks except one (still waiting for bc it pip last night) hatched before it. Anyways she’s ok eating n drinking actually like the others.
