Hallo from South Central PA!

Hi, my name is Melissa and today (3/24/13) I purchased my first chicks! I purchased 4 Tetra Tint pullets and 2 Assorted Reds (I think they're Rhode Island Reds) from Tractor Supply. It seems like they're doing pretty well so far. I was originally going to get Ameraucaunas and a few Silkies but was tired of waiting for them to show up in the store

. We already have a HUGE chicken coop built on our property and I am looking forward to it getting some use! The coop is built into a shed with a cozy little viewing room that looks into the hen house. Through a little door the hens can go out into a huge screened in area outfitted with roosting poles and gravel. Here's some quick info about me...
-I am a 1st time chicken owner!
-I am a vegetarian so eggs are a huge portion of my diet!
-I am leaving to study abroad in Germany this September!
-My username, ineinkleinesei(in ein kleines Ei), means "In a little egg" in German.
-I am the proud owner of 4 Tetra Tints and 2 (I assume) Rhode Island Reds!
