Hand embroidery chat thread!

The chicken scratch is always worked on gingham fabric. I Googled the name and it is also know as Amish embroidery, cross-stitch on gingham, depression lace, gingham lace, gingham tracks, lace stitch, and snowflake embroidery. I remember seeing it on apron's, dish towels, tablecloths, and little girls gingham dresses. The first pic is what I'm working on, it's going to be a Rooster. The second pic is one I snagged off the internet. Using the white floss is nice for a 'lacey' look. I'll post another pic when the Rooster is finished.

 
that is really pretty, easy counted cross stitch is that your own pattern that you came up with?

I m using the grid chart in a candlewick book for the rooster design. The stitches i am just using a variety of the chicken scratch patterns.
