Handi-Quack!

Does anyone have experiences to share regarding a lone handi-quack? This little Rouen was an assisted hatch and has a bad leg that sticks out behind him. The leg has sensation and he uses it to scoot around, but he doesn't bend it at the knee area. I sold all of his hatch mates to the local feed store, but I kept him behind. Now what?

Why didn't you keep a friend for him? Maybe getting another duckling might be the kindest thing to do.

I should have added that he has 7 chick friends of similar ages. He drowned this morning in the water bowl. The bowl was a shallow dish with about an inch of water in it. It looks like he got in and couldn't get out. It's such a bummer. He was doing so well with all his chick friends. Nature wins again. I'll miss Mr. Handi-quack. XOXOX
