Hi. I have an Americana who is very handicapped and she is 5.5 months old. She was born with a deformed leg that she can't use to walk on. Her other leg has 2 deformed toes so it is difficult for her to move around. I adopted her as soon as I heard she was "broken" just so I could give her the best life ever. She stays in my house and is spoiled to the point that she is just like a lap dog! So my question is, is there a way to stop her from laying eggs? I don't think her poor body could handle it. I don't want her to die because of this, especially if there is a way to prevent egg laying. Thank you in advance for any help anyone can give. Christi (Hope's human mom)

Thank you so much for your response sourland! Do you think she will still be ok even if she can't walk? I'm not experienced with chickens at all so I don't know how they actually lay eggs.
