So it started hammering with its beak again and now it's starting to bleed. I don't know what to do.. should I take it out and try to stop the bleeding?

Mhhh feeling temps where low from opening bater to candle&fill wells. Please don't rush this they are lucky.

Sounds like it pipped a vein. I guess we know why it hasn't progressed. He's still not ready.

I candle and rewet sponges and it doesn't affect my temps that greatly and definitely not long enough and I had an old styro.

Dang oyster shell making uncrackable eggs(maybe not in your case but it does happen)

Yes but Amy that's not too u sweetheart YOU move with confidence&awareness of time. You know exactly what you are doing so don't apply to u silly. Plus it takes I no time to do it.
Example of you stop watch me 4.2seconds to candle 4eggs(not drop),rotate,fill wells lid shut,only a 3degre temp can be for 4.2sec's
Hubby(ugh,i luv him) 9mins plus.
That's because he wants to candle each egg,clean up every drop of water spilled and pauses to yell at kids and dogs and etc.
See my point?

LOL.. Hey I managed to drop one of my silkie eggs day 17 during candling and for the first time, cracked up the backside ....so I'm not always that graceful. However, a little clear tape and a lot of prayer, and it hatched just fine- and all by itself with no assist.

Geez I'm exhausted with all this. I'm so worried about it I feel like I'm at the hospital waiting an my own babe. I know I'm a bit of a bleeding heart. I just want to snuggle it and reassure it that its ok.. goodness I'm about to cry over a chicken...

Do you guys think it will still hatch on its own? Should I check it in a few hours or just leave it till morning?
