So if you find out you do need to go down with your humidity, do I just take out the red tabs? Do I take some of the water out? I hate the thought of spending this kind of money, and because of my lack of knowledge, I deny life, and lose money. I'm sure to get 100% hatch rate for my first time is way out of my reach, but I would like for there to be as little loss as possible.

Oh I am so glad to hear that people still use these models. I couldn't believe the prices on the new incubators. I wanted the one with the fan, but you can't be picky when you buy used. Actually, the old LG9200s are better than the new LG 9300s- They are terrible!!!

You can open vents. I would start low, 30%-40%, and instead of putting water in the wells, put in a wet sponge. If your air cells are growing too fast you can add another sponge or a little water to up the humidity and slow down the growth. If the air cells aren't growing enough, you can pull out the sponge and run dry for a couple days.

Just remember, shipped eggs are expected to have lower rates in general, so don't beat yourself up if it's not as good as you are hoping. Of course, I know people that have had 100% on shipped eggs too.

Glad to see someone else has days like me! That's good information for me to know, incase I have to get eggs shipped to me, so thank you for that info as well. So any normal sponge, new of course, will do?

Yeah, I buy mine at the dollar store. lol Just make sure they don't have any kind of chemical/cleaner in them. I don't know how that would affect the eggs.

How exciting!!!! They can take a while. The pip just means they're taking a breather and absorbing the yolk into their abdomen. Sometimes, a chick will rest 18-48 hours before it's ready to zip and others will go really fast. Don't forget to post pics!

Yay!!!! It can take as little as 8-10 hours or as much as 24. After the pip, the eggs vascular system has to shut down and that can take a while. Keep us posted!! Any more??
