Hands on hatching and help

I HAVE A PIP!!!!!!! um, what do I do what do I do??? Added water, waiting for humidity to come up. Took out the other vent - only had one in because it wouldn't hold temp very time I took them both out. Pip is in the air cell facing up!! That's good, that's good. Oh myohmyohmy!

Go Blooie Go!

I know! As soon as I felt how light the box was I was scared. Then when I reached my hand into the popcorn and pulled the first egg out upside down, I cringed!! But I think I will get some babies from this batch. I'm very excited!! I've never seen a duck hatch in person!!

It's a relief when the air cells aren't a mess that's for sure!!
I love Calls they are absolutely adorable and I reeeeeaaallly want some lol. We need to build another coop before I can get any ducks and my husband is already building 2 more

..So for now, I'm just enjoying watching everyone else hatch ducks lol.

Thanks for your thoughts on my bantam eggs too! I was 90% sure they were all clears but it's nice to have another set of eyes take a look.
I think I'm going to set again next week (some of my own blue copper black & splash Marans) and I have my eye on a few ads and auctions I may cave and buy lol.

And we have a chick!! Noticed the pip about 12:30 am. Just a teeny little spot that we almost missed! Woke up at 4:45am to peeping so we thought he must be close to zipping all the way around. Turned on the light and saw this !! Welcome to the world, little Olive Egger!

Awsome. Congrats mom

My new batch of call eggs arrived at the post office today. Was surprised (not in a good way) by the packing. Single boxed with only packing peanuts and eggs were put in upside down!! But lots of extras were sent. 2 had small, firm air cells, the rest were very wobbly but not totally detached. 17 shipped call eggs...here we go!!

Well at least the box was FULL of peanuts. Good luck

I don't like the looks of the Cream Legbar's navel.

Very red, a little puffy, tissue under the skin looks kinda bluish, green watery diarrhea. Also has one eye that is stuck shut. Cleaned that off with warm water and a cotton ball but he's still not opening it. He's active, chirping, so I don't know. I repeat, how do you people DO this time after time!

How's the baby doing???

No change. Tried again to get that eye opened. It doesn't look like a thing wrong structurally. But it might not matter anyway with the naval like that. Is there anything I can put on it? I know, shooting in the dark. I have several good antibiotic ointments that don't have pain relievers in them. She's so doggone cute!

Post a pic if you can...
For the eye, I usually do water and whatever triple antibiotic ointment I have. For the navel, pic if possible...?
