Hands on hatching and help

Do you have a heat lamp and a red bulb. Please put that on him so he stays warm and can move around. They don't like it to crowded. Does he have space a box a cage to move around in. Food and water. Offered to him. Please keep showing it to him. Every hr or every time you go buy him. Does he have a friend . If you had him in a incubator you can try placing him back in it for a day or two to stable.

Today is 25 and I'm giving up on my eggs. I contacted the person I got them from and they were so kind to offer to send me more for free. They are so sweet. I'm definitely doing more research and buying a better thermometer and keeping a much closer eye on my next batch. Question though.... what do I do with my bad eggs? I know this sounds gross but I really want to open them up to see what's inside.

First timer...
I am hatching white leghorn eggs in a little giant incubator. When I got them half were refridgerated, and all of them were put in the incubator about 24 hours after being played. For most of the Time the temperature has been constant. At lockdown all eggs looked good when candled. On day 20 however the temperature was down to 85. I don't know how long it was like this. Now we are on day 23 and none have pipped. I need help! Did I loose the batch?

I am a first time Hatcher. I had a foam incubator that would not keep temp or humidity right. I had one out of ten hatch. This second time around I bought an incubator that turns the eggs, keeps the temp, has a fan, and displays humidity. What an awesome piece of equipment. Today is hatch day and so far 2 have hatched and three are externally pipped. So I am pretty happy. I'm a nervous grandmother, lol, but I did open my incubator, candle the eggs, and talk to them even before any external pips. So my way like above may not be your way but it works for me.

Congrats and welcome to the thread!
My cup baby is looking really weak this morning. He somehow escaped his cup and ended up getting chilled as he got out from under the heat pad. I've put him back but it doesn't look good to me

He might just surprise you. They are resillient little buggers. Blooie had one she was ready to bury because it got out from the heat and she found it (thought it was dead) limp. It made a great comeback once it was warmed back up.

Go ahead. I do eggtopsies on just about everything except clears and bloodrings. If there is development, I open them up. Even my 8 year old boy is curious to see how they developed before quitting. Eggtopsies especially when you've had a bad hatch can help you figure out what went wrong too. I eggtopsie and toss mine into to the brush out in back of the house.

He didn't make it :(. He was just weak from the start and even warming him back up after he'd got cold overnight wasn't enough :(. His two little siblings are doing great though. 2/12 eggs only properly hatched, and they were all super late.

Just saw n haven't gotten caught up on the thread but how's he doing?
My guy still hanging in there..I catch him standing with his head between his legs a lot.. but still active..no change in the small blob of yolk in the last 12 hours or so but still not dry enough that I'm comfortable cutting it off or anything..one chick left in hatcher with him..I have to take my son to the doctor (came home yesterday with entire finger tip infected and swollen..must have had a splinter he didn't know about..he's 6 so hoping they don't drain it..)
But when I get home from the doc, I'm going to attempt some food and water for the little guy..he's running low on time to eat, especially if he didn't get to absorb a whole yolk..going to give him a scrambled egg with a bit of game bird starter mixed in and see what happens...maybe food will help it dry up and fall off..hoping my thinking that if he poos his insides are gonna come out too is not correct :\
These guys tear at my heart sometimes
