Hands on hatching and help

First timer...
I am hatching white leghorn eggs in a little giant incubator. When I got them half were refridgerated, and all of them were put in the incubator about 24 hours after being played. For most of the Time the temperature has been constant. At lockdown all eggs looked good when candled. On day 20 however the temperature was down to 85. I don't know how long it was like this. Now we are on day 23 and none have pipped. I need help! Did I loose the batch?

Candle them.. they may just be behind..
ETA: Did u count your day 1 when you set them, or 24 hours after u set? They seem to be more sensitive to a temp drop when ready to hatch , but there's always a chance.
Yesterday someone unplugged the extension cord that I have a grounded surge protector on with all of my incubators, hatcher, and heating pads that are in my brooders plugged in on. ... I had chicks pipping, zipping and hatched at the time in the hatcher, not to mention 2 incubators full.. temp had dropped to 89 when I noticed but everyone pulled through and finished what they were doing..it takes an egg a lot longer to cool than it does the air around them..

Just saw n haven't gotten caught up on the thread but how's he doing?
My guy still hanging in there..I catch him standing with his head between his legs a lot.. but still active..no change in the small blob of yolk in the last 12 hours or so but still not dry enough that I'm comfortable cutting it off or anything..one chick left in hatcher with him..I have to take my son to the doctor (came home yesterday with entire finger tip infected and swollen..must have had a splinter he didn't know about..he's 6 so hoping they don't drain it..)
But when I get home from the doc, I'm going to attempt some food and water for the little guy..he's running low on time to eat, especially if he didn't get to absorb a whole yolk..going to give him a scrambled egg with a bit of game bird starter mixed in and see what happens...maybe food will help it dry up and fall off..hoping my thinking that if he poos his insides are gonna come out too is not correct :\
These guys tear at my heart sometimes
Ouch. Good luck at the DR

Here's the thing, is it a Little Giant 9300 or 10300 and if it is are you going by the diplay on the bator or do you have your own thermometer and hygrometer in there? I would candle and check for life.

What does a 'behind' embroyo, look like when candled? And I will check the model and get back to ya.

You shouldn't really see much but darkness..but you're going to want to look for any movement..either a triangle (beak) in the actual air cell, movement along the air cell line or any movement in general inside the "dark area"
If there's movement, they're still alive and have a chance.
Have you candled any during the past 3 weeks?

Here is a candling thread, that has great pics from day to day. At lockdown the eggs should have been near impossible to see into past the air cell. If there was still a lot of light going through the egg, then they were problably behind. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...g-candling-pics-progression-though-incubation

If your incubator has the digital display and controls it's a 9300 or higher. If this is so and you do not have an independent checked thermometer in your bator and are going by the incubator, then that is probably your problem. The digital LG's are awful and the display is known for being a good threee degrees off (if not more) for temps and the humidity gage is rarely worth a dime. So if you are using the bator's read outs I would say that is why you are seeing a delay in hatching.

Ok thank you. Yes I've candled twice. Once at 10 days and threw out 4 that were not developing. And then right before lockdown and only threw out one. All the others were pretty much dark and moved away from the light. But I though you don't want to candle them after lockdown, or is this a special case? And it's a little giant 10200

Many people generally don't candle after lockdown, (someof us still do) but generally, if you don't have action by the end of day 22, you might as well candle and check for life. I'm one of those that candle when I want to be it before during or after hatching.

The 10200 is digital too. If you don't have your own checked/accurate thermometer and hygrometer, I would get one and check it against the incubator to verify accuracy.
