I Do Have Serious Draw Downs!! There Is Movement Against The Membrane Like They Are Trying To Internally Pip!! OMG I'm 16 and I Can't Wait!!

OK,So I May Or May Not Have An Internal Pip. How do you tell a double yolker/chicken egg on days 19/20, I think I have one, there is this space in one of the eggs, like it's a space between 2 chicks, and both sides move. If it is how do you help a double yolker? When do you help a double yolker. I didn't see this in the beginning because I candled the first day and then I didn't candle till the thirteenth and I saw nothing wrong with it. Let me get a picture to show u what I mean.
I see no internal pip and not much for draw down yet. I don't know what to tell you about double yolkers though.

Hey my 2nd chick has now pipped through a vein and is bleeding. I don't understand it. This one has had no assistance and seemed to be zipping fine. I came back and blood evwrywhere.. what is going on?
It hit a vein while zipping??

Morning. I broke some of the shell away and used a q tip with some water to staunch the bleeding the put a light amount of cornstarch on it to keep it from bleeding again. Worked great. I left both in the incubator until 2 am. No progress and they both were starting to look not so good so I peeled away all the shell and pulled down the membrane gently without cutting it. They both were ready and are doing good now. The first one to pip did have a bloody navel and was so weak I didn't know if it would make it. This morning it's like any other chick

Glad to hear. I always use sav a chick in my water the first couple of days. It gives them extra vits and electrolytes whether they need it or not.

Congrats!

The pictures I posted were not of one of the draw Downs. I have 3 that have Awesome Draw Downs but that one has not drawn down yet. But when I candled last night it worried me because it looked like it had 2 chicks in there.

Congrats!

Yes the latest one to pip that was doing good all on its own zipped through a vein. Thas what the first one did too. This one was worse though. I couldn't understand how that was even happening. Do you know what could cause this? I also give mine the save a chick packets. I have some in there right now lol. Thanks for all the help. I seriously couldn't have done it without your guidance.. :)

Hi everyone! I am new and hoping to join your group. I set my first 6 eggs to hatch today. They are BR through the mail. Crossing my fingers and hoping that my 3 years of stalking BYC will pay off. Lol. I have never hatched before, but having a huge heart for animals and being a take charge kind of girl, I am definitely one to be a hands on hatcher if need be. We currently have 2 RIR's and a little gold laced bantam.
I have one quick question...I already feel like the chicken math is going to kick in. I am so excited to watch these babies pip and wonder how you guys can feed these addictions? Do you sell the majority of your chicks you raise?

Hi and welcome. I bought so many eggs it's not even funny. I do plan on selling the extras on Craigslist for now. I may do word of mouth also since I live in an area big on ranching and farming. You can also ask around at the feed stores. Leave your number with them. :)
