Hands on hatching and help

Good luck on the pea baby!
Looking forward to reading this tomorrow!
I don't remember the exact articles. But I see you posted some links. You guys are giving me lots of reading to do!
So what's the deal with the eggs? Were the ones you thought were quitters still going? When's hatch day?
I ended up with 10 still going. I thought they were all gonners, but no. Saturday was day 14, so today is 17 so about 10 more days?? I'm not liking doing guineas. They have me ??? half the time. If I can keep these 10 going for that long we may still get something.

First day of homeschool grade 1....got my Math U See blocks out, paper and pencils ready...wish us luck...lol..
Atfer that horrible temp spike on day 7 (110!) I hatched three of my five eggs, including my one show quality Buff Orpington, The other two made it to the very end before quitting, and weirdly were both from the same hen who is usually my go-to baby maker.
So I now have two little bantam cross mutts and a giant Buff Orp growing up together in my basement. Pretty sure the one barnyard mix is a rooster from its coloring, but I hope not. I have a great mix rooster and a spare. Don't need any more!

Good luck!! we started a week ago Monday so we are on week 2 for this year. Congrats on the hatcher.

Good luck. We wanted to add a few guineas hens next year.
I want to do quail. I just have to have the proper set up first and I need to look into our laws because we really want Bob White's but I've had people tell me some states you have to get a permit for them. One of our Amish families that I give extra roos too had some and my son fell in love with them.

Aww I don't know much about quail other then they are adorable! I wonder why they make people get a permit...

Because Bobwhites are an indigenous species to the US and some states classify them as wildlife... to keep, raise, sell or release any wildlife, permits are required...
Thank you, lol

Amy, do you use the Math U See program? I like the approach, but to say the DVD is clunky and badly done is a huge understatement lol.
Nope. I don't use any commercial curriculum. I put our curriculum together from scratch. We hae used Brain quiz workbooks as supplements and this year we are going t o use mobymax online if I can figure how to fit it in with my lesson plans. I use a lot of on line resources especially for worksheets. When he starts getting into the complicated math we will be using a commercial curriculum and/or online tutoring, cause advanced math is not my friend....lol
