I have the spray leg and the crushed one in the bator. One duckling under the two mamas. I want to keep them in their nest box until all ducklings are there for their “first walk out” with the mamas. I’m also concerned about how two ducks may share one duckling. They fought over the eggs all the time. Which is actually probably where most of them went

Question - I hatched Coturnix Quails for the first time in my life a month ago. All that did not hatch had external pip; I did not do anything and they died. I have just put my second batch (144 eggs) yesterday and I would like to prevent this from happening again. What should I change this time during incubation? My humidity is 60% for the first 14 days and 80% during lockdown. Temp - 100F=37.8C, but I read that it should be 101.5F=38.6C at the top of the egg, which seems too high??

If I had an external pip and it has been 48hrs I start al least getting some shell off, their is a white membrane that is easier for them to get through

If you have external PIP, you have life that is worth fighting for, now that they have external oxygen then peel to see how they are doing. My Roxy had a yolk sac and had to go back in the incubator to ripen some more,..19hrs later he was ready so I finished getting him out but his legs were weak and he had trouble holding his head up so I did physical therapy with him. Put my fingers and hand under him and walked him to strengthen his legs, a little at a time and in a day he was running on his own. He is doing awesome now,..still a Mommas boy,..

Roxy, the yolk sac baby and Winnie was a another complete assisted birth and the Pekin is Mom who quit sitting on the eggs after a attack on her nest at a public pond.

My girl stilts was an assisted hatch turkey. She laid on her side in the incubator for 2 days.... cant pick her out of the flock now without checking her wing band.

Does she remember you? My yolk sac baby is a mommas boy,..he loves sitting on my lap and both of them follow me EVERYWHERE,..I am trying really hard to get them to be a flock with the real mom but I am mom to them,..

It's hard to say all the turkey hens in that pen follow me around barking for treats... silly girls.
