Hanging feeders without strangling inhabitants

I used vinyl-wrapped wire clothesline to hang the feeder in our new coop (the other coop has a trough). Since it just hangs from one central point, I don't think there is any chance any of our girls will meet with misfortune (even though they each exhibit varying forms and degrees of doofus-ness from time to time).
