Hanging feeders?

Yep I hang both of mine as well inside and out keep unwanted guest (field mice) from atempting to eat the feed.

What I'd like to know is when to stop using feeders and switch to throwing the food on the ground? Or ever? My chicks are 7 wks old. They act like they can't get enough food. If I refill the feeders they are on them like they haven't eaten ever.
Just a side note: Today is the first time they've been exposed to rain. Curious to see if they want to get wet.

They should always have food available in a feeder. From hatching through adulthood. They will grow and lay better if they have poultry feed 24/7 and not meals. Yes you will go through lots of poultry feed. Chickens eat a lot.

Personally I ration mine(Adult Fowl)..Just overall better health
