Hanging out in corners

My chickens seem to hang out in the corner quite a bit. And their hoop coop is so long (in MY opinion). I hardly see them in the back end. Truth be told I will be glad when Dec. comes 'cause I have scheduled to get their electric fencing

Today I took this pic of them. I did not want to get too close and have them move as if they thought I had food. I had just gotten out the car and was feet away from them.

You think maybe they simply did see me and actuaĺly wanted food? It appeared to me they were in the corner before I arrived. I zoomed out, or is it in, the lens.

Looks like they want something, to come out, to get fed, to just hang with you.

Mine always come running whenever they see me because I am the Bringer of Food. Maybe that's why they are always in the corner. They hear you and try to see what you've got.

Ours are usually by one gate or another, both of which face the house. They can see us moving around inside from there (which probably entertains them) and also crowd up there in anticipation of some free range time.

I can NOT wait to film their first time free ranging.

Did I yell yaw'll last Monday one of my roos was getting it in? Still no crowing from any of them.

What I would do is go into the coop/run and fiddle around, till they loose interest in me. Then I feed. It will take bit of practice, but while it is adorable when they all come running, there is a mob flavor to it, and can lead to aggression.

Then they won't just hang in the corner begging you for more.

Our farm birds know my car, and by the time I pull all the way in the driveway they are piled up in the corner closest to the car. And yes, I always bring them veggie scraps. They know.
