Hanging waterers

I am just about to install my new home made nipple feeder because im kind of fed up with my hanging waterer.

I got this from Amazon. It holds a gallon of water, which for my 4 chickens would normally last a few days.

The problem is if it starts to tilt it wont right itself and eventually all the water will spill out. Putting it on top of a block of some sort would easily fix the spilling issue but they would still kick up a ton of bedding marterial into it.

I have it hanging about a foot off the ground and they still manage it get sand in it.

when i get home from work today i will be changing it with with a 4 foot 3" PVC nipple based waterer.

why not get a bucket and fit the bottom with the nipples, I have 2, one 5 gal.(in the run) and one 3 gal. (in the coup). They both hang, have a sealed top and the water stays fresh and clean. Also, if you use the metal type you can not use ACV in the water, causes rust!
