I knew I couldn't see any other coloration on her, but I my old eyes are not what they used to be. She is a Black Australorp, which is my favorite standard breed. They are extremely hardy, calm and gentle, and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. I have raised them for years and currently have 7 of them in my own flock.
