happy dance?

So... what does it mean when Blu crouches low on his belly and does a happy dance while letting out a high pitched squeal? He kept doing this dance around PJ earlier, never saw that before!
I haven't got a clue but I had two that each did a little circle dance followed by a leap into the air with a squeal today.

Yes! They all did the leap, but Blu's the only one that dud the crouched dance thing. These are the boys, so not mating...unless..you said they cld swap mates each year. I wonder if the 3 were auditioning?

I doubt it was a mating thing. I have never seen this behavior during breeding season. What it reminded me of was the deer playing their crazy games at this time of year. Maybe they are celebrating the cooler weather and feeling spunky.

The leap was a twisting spiraling leap and not just jumping into the air.

Yep, like a ballerina pirouette with wings. Lol. They were out all day pretty much sunning themselves, so when I filled their bowls and they knew it was time to go in, the boys headed in, but Rosie had to go running to the field to where Lucy's nest had been as usual. Nugget looked back and realized he was the only one still out, gave chase, tried herding, wing-blocking and finally nipping to get her to go inside.
The little ones opted to stay in the coop where it was warm. Not sure on Mouse yet, but the gran called it-the -brown?- one's voice is changing and she's come-backing all over the place.
