Hello all, I've been reading these forums since long before my six new girls were born five months ago on March 15. I want to thank you all for this great resource! Very, very useful, informative, and funny!

Four of my girls just started laying all sorts of colored eggs, so I think it's a good time to join and to thank you, because you definitely helped me achieve this milestone.

What a nice surprise- a new member with chickens laying eggs - most are upset because their young birds haven't started yet. Do you have easter eggers since you mentioned colored eggs.

Did you make them a cake? Someone told my daughter that she should throw the chickens a party once they are all laying and now she's convinced we must make them a carrot/celery "cake"
 
No, no easter eggers. As a matter of fact, never heard of them before, had to google them :-(.

-- Two Araukanas -- blue eggs
-- One Leghorn -- white eggs
-- Two Buffs and one Barred Rock -- don'n know yet who is the luckiest :)
