That is how it works. They have to get rid of them somehow and you have to get them quickly before other livestock feeders jump on them. With our cold, they don't last long anyway but you have a chance for them to still be good for feeding longer than we do.I wonder if our local growers would give me their leftovers?

Some are much better than others. Pie pumpkins are the best followed by the turbine as they have the most meat. The warty ones are just so-so but better than nothing. That field had all kinds of ornamentals, most I leave lying where I find them.
