She watched him go. As soon as he was gone, her eyes softened and the hard look on her face disappeared. Angel, come here baby" she said, picking up the halter.

She watched him go.  As soon as he was gone, her eyes softened and the hard look on her face disappeared.  Angel, come here baby" she said, picking up the halter.

Angel was hesitant for a moment but then walked to Melissa. She put her nose into the halter, a natural move, and closed her eyes, waiting for her cue to walk.
