Jessica shot an angry glare at Carter as she walked by on Charm. Carter smiled cutely, and raked her heels down Charm's side, making the sleek black mare burst into a gallop. Jessica watched the pretty mare go, but rolled her eyes at Carter. She saddled Rose, then rode her out into the jumping ring.

Sheri led Madge out into a grassy pasture, three tall black foals bucking along behind her.
