She looked down "It's a mule..." she said quietly

"So? Mules are great for pulling carts and such" she said.

"For a breeder its an awful blemish on a good line of papers..." she said quietly

She sighed. "Well, I happen to love mules" she said with a smile. "And what's the whole thing with beating horses to death? Why not make it quick?"

"The old man has made a sport of killing us" she said

"Well, I'm trying to stop it" she said, petting her gently. "Do you need anything?"

"No..." she said quietly

The man pulled out his cell phone and Julies number he called it while watching the two horses

Julie pulled out her cell phone. "Hello?"

"I gots to horses for ya ma'am" a rough voice said

She smiled. "I'll be right over. See you in about 15 minutes"
