"I'm going to get them too, I won't leave them" Julie said, knowing what the stallion was thinking about.

Rose watched, terrified. She was tied in a worse way that Star had been, as she was "in training". Instead of a ring in one flank, she had one in both, and was chained instead of roped, tight in a way that forced her to have her nose nearly between her legs to keep from hurting herself. The rings were clearly new, her legs were hobbled tightly. The man wanted to completely destroy her spirit, so he was training her harshly, he didn't like her color, either and was hoping that the more he beat her, the more white-haired scars it would give her. Her head was tied to a post like Star's had been. She stayed silent, hoping to avoid a beating.

Mika lay on the ground she had ripped the ring from her flank when she had fallen to the ground durring her beating and she hadnt gotten back up

Julie sighed and tied his lead to the fence, giving him plenty of slack so that he could move his head freely and graze a bit if he wanted to, then walked to Mika.

Mika didnt move only the slight rise and fall of her chest and the blood still trickling down her flank gave away life

Julie knelt beside her and pulled a bottle of water out of her bag.

The mare groaned but didnt move

She then pulled out a soft cloth and knelt beside her flank.

Her wound was swolen and infected

She sighed and trickled some of the water over it slowly.
