Hey! I'm new to this whole backyard chicken adventure. We are in the very beginning stages with lots of research. We can have a maximum of 3 chickens. Our summer project with the girls is to build a coop. I'm curious about breeds. Is it best to get all the same breed or can we get a white egg layer and a brown egg layer?
Thanks!

It all depends on your preferences. I always like a mixed flock. All you really need to know is to never get one of a different breed and the rest the same breed, the same-breed chickens will pick on the odd one out.

LOL! I'm the one who asked her that!
