I have an injured turkey that will be staying in hospital isolation for some time. Any ideas on how to keep him happy, or at least less stressed, while in isolation? Thus far, my sitting and talking to him is working, but when I leave his sight or don't respond to his pleas, he freaks out.

Any suggestions would help. thanx...

That's really tough, because they are such social animals. Since he's being isolated for an injury, would it be possible to put him where he could see the flock? I have a wire dog crate that I can confine a bird in, but still leave them in the run, so they're with the others.

put him out with the flock in the shade so he can be social. Make sure to check that ants dont get him while in the cage as he wont be able to get away.
