Happy Little Ducklings

I put about a cup of dog food into a metal tin and call chick, chick, chick! I toss the dog food into the coop, and they charge up the ramp to get to it.

It took a week or so of calling them, and letting them eat the dog food before it clicked with them. Now, they see the tin and come running.

Good luck. Your ducklings are so cute!

Blessings-

Thanks! I'm not quite sure yet what we'll do in the winter. I can run electricity to the house easily from the barn, so they'll have an electric water heater to keep their drinking water thawed. I can cover the giant vents on the sides if needed because there's also vents under the roof on the long sides, but I've heard ducks can handle low temps even better than chickens, so it may not be necessary. For swimming water in the winter I hope to keep part of the pond from freezing over and just shovel a path to it from their house. If all else fails, they can always go in the barn with a kiddie pool... but I'm really hoping to avoid that mess!
