Good evening all. I have been on here for almost a month but I thought I better introduce myself. I am a newbie to raising chickens but so far I love it. It all started with two mut chickens a friend from work gave to me. Now I have three breeding pairs of silkie and I am adding new hens every chance I get, plus I have a coop just for layers because homegrown eggs are always better then store bought. I have even built an incubater that can hold about 100 eggs so far. I have messed with reptiles in the past but my wife will no longer let me so I turned to the chicken world and love it. I want to get into the more exotic breeds in the future and I am testing my skills on my current flock. My wife wants to continue with the silkes and start some buff orps. So far this club has really helped me out on some questions that I have had thru my and other members post. Thank you all for the help.

I hope so. I think that my backgroud in Reptiles and insects will help. I use to breed to try to bring out certain genetics. I hope to bring this to the chicken world....lol. I am interested in trying to come up with a new and interesting bloodline.
