Greetings!

I am happy to finally join this group. Here is a quick intro:

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is my first time having chickens of my own (since January), but I’ve been caring for numerous flocks at a farm animal sanctuary I volunteer at for the past several years.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have three currently, all older friends, two hens and one rooster. Two of them are special needs.

(3) What breeds do you have?

Goldie Hen: Buff Brahma
Edith: Rhode Island Red
Sinatra: Silkie

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

They are absolutely delightful companions! A great excuse to spend more time outside.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Mountain biking, skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, camping, gardening

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My husband and I live in Central Oregon along with our beloved dog Nova.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

I initially found BYC via a Google search and thought it was time I start contributing! I have some questions about run construction that I posted as well.
