I've been reading BYC's off & on for a year or more. Now that we dove in with 4 Buff Orpingtons 2 weeks ago, I am even more grateful for this amazing community! Thanks for your sharing, I learn something every time I come to this site and appreciate the warmth and humor.

Hi there! I'm a new chicken mom also and a new member. I got most of my pre-commitment study material from this site, which I gleaned for a good year before finally deciding to go for it. So far so good with my new chicks, 6 Buff Orpingtons and 4 Silver Laced Wyandotte pullets who are now a week old and seem happy and healthy. I owe all of the credit to the BYC community. They rock!
