Sometimes when I crack open an egg, I have found a small, hard, dark spot in the white next to the yolk. It reminds me of a tiny snail shell, and it is not a uniform color. It is not a blood spot. There is no discoloration around the spot. I pick it out and toss it and still use the egg, no difference in taste that I can tell. I've found this spot in reg chicken eggs, and a banty egg. Any idea what this is, and has anyone else ever noticed a spot like this?
