Hi- I'm planning on picking up a little Salmon Faverolle pullet soon, and I'm super excited! I've daydreamed about getting one for over a year and a half. She's going to be the companion to my Maran, however, I was thinking about getting another pullet to go with her. So my question is: which breed should I get?
I can pick from: Yokahamas,( white and brown) German Spitzhaubens ,Mottled Houdans,Golden laced Polish, Silver Spangled Hamburgs, Easter Eggers, Buff Brahamas, Salmon Faverolles, Cuckoo Marans, Speckled Sussex, Turkens.
However I've narrowed down the list to my favorites: Easter Eggers (I already have one), Buff Brahamas, Cuckoo Marans, Speckled Sussex, Mottled Houdans, and Gold Laced Polish. I don't think the other breeds would fit into our enviroment well.
So, which do you think I should get in addition to my Salmon Faverolle? It should probably be a very non aggresive breed since Salmon Faverolles are so docile, though I'm mainly looking for freindly and a good layer, and prefferably not constantly broody (though Buff Brahama's are adorable!). I was originally thinking another Marans, but I'm worried about the Cuckoo marans egg color.
Thanks!
