Very interesting! Which brings me to a question: If you were to breed a Hard feathered silkie to a soft feathered one, what would the offspring look like? Is hard feathered dominant over soft feathered? vice versa?

Thanks so much for the pics but here is the thing my silkie hen looks like she has hard feathers coming out of her head is this normal after they molt maybe? Or are they just hard feathers and the fluff fills in around them? I will get pics tomorrow during the daylight so you can see what I am exactly trying to get at.
Thanks again
