I have oyster shell for calcium and hard shell from co-op for grit....it is small grey rock-like...OR should I just order grit from online?

It depends on what "hard shell " is
If you mean crushed sea shells, its not "grit"

If your birds free range and have access to dirt and rocks, they will find grit on their own

I have been supplying oyster shell and grit in separate bowls for 2 years now and the girls look at it as if it where poison. They never touch it and I have never had a soft shelled egg or sickly chicken from no grit. Are we pampering them to much?
