A very good friend of mine told me how sad she was when she lost her pet fish. I still remember a little goldfish I had when I was about 11, 12 who died and how sad I was. Nothing wrong or strange about getting attached to our pets. Whether it's chickens or fish or dogs or cats... I hope your hen recovers from the loss of her buddy and accepts her flock mates and I hope you feel better soon.![]()
Thanks again. I came home and there were 10 feathers around her as she was laying on the coop ground. I was nervous she was stressed out and depressed but later I held her to make sure there werent mites/lice and about 30 more feathers came out of her.
I am hoping it's just her first molt and maybe she isnt even depressed about Debbie, but stressed because of the molt. She is 16m and hasnt laid an egg in over a week so I assume/really hope that its molting time for her. Though they came out of her thighs which I thought was odd because I read it starts with the head and kind of goes down from there.
Oh well, we shall see!
