Hi,
I have a little bantam brahma and we just found her sitting in a hole in the dirt with her head down and eyes closed and tail end up a little and sort of pulsating and rocking back and forth a bit. She has done this before (the first time was when she layed her first egg) and another time I watched her do this for over a half hour and never saw the egg come out. That time she seemed to snap out of it and wound up foraging for a while and I left her alone because I figured she was ok.
My question is - should I be doing something? I am worried when she does this. She seems very weak and tired. I have felt around her abdomen but don't really feel anything like an egg.
Has anyone else experienced this? I did a search for hard time laying egg and nothing really came up.
