I know the green you speak of but our eggs have beautiful bright yellow yolks. Much better looking than the store bought eggs we used to boil.cooking them this long causes them to get the yellow/brown/green sulfur around the yolk.
10 is plenty of time to cook the egg thoroughly and give you a bright yellow fluffy yolk.
I start the time a soon as I put the eggs in the water so it's not boiling for a few minutes...maybe we are doing the same thing.
